Friday, August 22nd, 2008Alexis Miller, a hip-hop singer that performs under the name MaryJane, filed a restraining order against Shaquille O’Neal on Friday, claiming that O’Neal is stalking her.
Miller, 23, claims that O’Neal stalked her, threatened her with bodily harm and made harassing phone calls in which he breathed heavily into the phone before hanging up.

Friday, August 22nd, 2008A knock on U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards as a vice presidential running mate is that nobody much knows him. An overstatement, perhaps, but we’ll venture to guess that his national name recognition is about 99 percentage points lower than, say, Hillary Clinton’s.

Thursday, August 21st, 2008After watching the men’s nail biting, down-to-the-wire 20 km race walk, I’m still not convinced this sport belongs in the Olympics.
Athletics is about running fast, throwing far and jumping high. Walking is about twisting your body and trying to go fast while trying to go slow. It’s like swimming in a straitjacket.
