CNN has mentioned his name four times in the past minute. Just how many people were vetted, as he was, they wonder? But they are not staking out his house, from what I can tell. Still, AP is formally saying that he is/was a finalist.

A knock on U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards as a vice presidential running mate is that nobody much knows him. An overstatement, perhaps, but we’ll venture to guess that his national name recognition is about 99 percentage points lower than, say, Hillary Clinton’s.
